Eureka life

Everyday we look out and the weather is again perfect.  Not too hot and not too cold.  We did have to scrape some frost off the windshield of the car a couple of times, but just because we were up before the sun had a chance to do its work.
I thought I might mention the wildlife around here.  The other senior couple in the mission sends the mission President a weekly wildlife report.  They are here from Texas.  I guess deer and elk are less common in their part of the world.  I am ashamed to say that I don't even notice them anymore, but we have deer and elk.  Because we live so close to the Humboldt Bay and the Pacific Ocean, we see lots of water birds.  We regularly see white egrets and white ibis and cormorants.  Cormorants are the fishing bird of China. We sometimes see  great blue herons.  Of course there are lots of ducks and geese. The new bird we saw this week is a black-crowned night heron.
This week a seal came up quite close to the shoreline.  We haven't seen them, but sharks have been spotted in the area seeking out a tasty meal of seal.
We are finding ourselves more and more involved with the members.  It is a happy Sunday when the chapel is full and I can name many of the members.  We have been to some great zone conferences. Missionary work is an extension of the work of the twelve.  Therefore, missionaries are companions with the apostles.  What a thought. Hang on and take your vitamins, as President Nelson has said.  More is yet to come. Soon people will be flocking to the church because of our stability and clarity.
